Bus Route 40/42 connects Richmond, infamous for its crime rate and poverty, to San Rafael in Marin County, one of the richest in the nation. Separated by the San Francisco Bay, residents from these two areas must travel 12 miles across the Richmond Bridge to work or play on the other side. Suspended over the picturesque bay, border-crossers are witness to a deep divide between their home and their destination.
